Due for completion in October 2023, the 2.4MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is an important step forward for energy storage. Designed to improve grid stability along the Peninsula and provide the ability to capture excess solar energy generated during the middle of the day and supply it back to the grid during high demand morning and evening periods.

Speaking at the breaking ground ceremony, Domenic Capomolla, CEO said, “Today is especially significant as it marks the first of many exciting utility-scale battery projects for Pacific Blue and is an important stepping-stone in our development pipeline for projects such as Clements Gap Battery in South Australia, planned for completion in late 2025, and Haughton Two Solar Farm in north Queensland’s Burdekin Shire, in 2026.”
