Jay Zhang – Chairman

Appointed as Chairman of Pacific Blue on 25 September 2023, Mr. Zhang  previously held the position of Deputy CEO, Australia before assuming the position of Director of International Business Department and Director of Global Talents Centre of China Power. 

Mr. Zhang Ji (Jay) has over 20 years of engineering and management experience in a variety of industries including clean energy, peaceful use of nuclear energy and healthcare. He previously led a team managing 6.8 GW capacity across 8 regional companies and more than 1600 global employees at China Power. Jay also contributed significantly to SPIC Overseas from 2018 to 2021. 

Jay holds two Masters' degrees in Nuclear Energy Technology and Business Administration from Tsinghua University.

Kelvin Cheng – Deputy Chief Executive Officer

Appointed as Deputy CEO in June 2022, Mr Kelvin Cheng also holds the position of Full-Time Director of Power International Development CPID, to which he was appointed in 2021.

Mr. Cheng has over 25 years of experience in financial and accounting management across a variety of industrial and commercial organisations, including multinational companies. Mr. Cheng joined SPIC Group in 2018 as a CFO. In 2021, he was appointed as a Full-time Director and Supervisor for CPID.

Mr. Cheng holds a Master's degree in accounting from the University of London UK. He is a qualified Accountant and a Fellow member of ACCA.

Yalin Zhang – Non-Executive Director

Appointed as Non-Executive Director on 2 March 2021, Mr. Zhang has over 27 years of experience working across engineering, project development, investment and asset management.

Currently Full-Time Director and Supervisor of CPID, Mr. Zhang originally joined CPID in 2006 as Senior Manager of Capital Markets and Investor Relations, before being appointed Deputy Director of International Cooperation, responsible for the development of international projects. Prior to joining CPID, Mr. Zhang worked for Siemens, Fortum and EDF.

Mr. Zhang holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Steam Turbine) from Xi’an Jiaotong University.

Domenic Capomolla – Chief Executive Officer

Domenic assumed the role of Interim CEO in late December 2021 and was appointed permanent CEO in March 2022.

With a history of starting and operating energy retailers in Australia and Asia, Domenic has held chief executive and senior executive roles with Sumo Power, where he was a founder, Alinta Energy, Simply Energy/International Power and Sembcorp Power (Singapore) spanning 20 years. He has established a reputation of taking start-up energy retailers and growing them into established, high-performing, profitable and customer focussed businesses. Domenic has formal tertiary qualifications in Mathematics and Applied Finance.

Prior to his appointment as Pacific Blue's CEO, Domenic was CEO of Tango Energy, Pacific Blue's retail arm, since 2018. Since its launch in 2016, Tango Energy has established itself as one of the fastest-growing electricity retailers in Australia and has won a number of consumer awards, including the most recent Canstar Blue awards for Most Trusted Electricity Provider – National 2024, Most Satisfied Customers Dual Fuel – National 2024, Most Satisfied Customers Electricity – VIC 2023, Most Satisfied Customers Gas – VIC 2023.

Roger Gill – Non-Executive Director

Appointed as Non-Executive Director on 1 December 2010, Mr Roger Gill has over 35 years of experience across management, operations, construction and project development in the energy and water sectors. His primary focus is on hydropower, water resource management, wind power and other renewable energy development.

Prior to establishing his international consulting practice in late 2007, he was Executive General Manager at Hydro Tasmania and Chief Executive Officer of Tasmanian Railway Pty Ltd. Roger is currently a Director and Principal Consultant of Hydro Focus Pty Ltd, President and Director of the International Hydropower Association, and Chair of Tasmanian Networks Pty Ltd.

Roger’s academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Tasmania and the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Qiang Sun

Mr. Qiang Sun was elected as the full-time Director of Pacific Blue in March, 2023. He has over 15 years experience in overseas renewable project development and asset operation management, strong communication and coordination ability, as well as significant experience in the communication and coordination of the Board of Directors.

From June 2016 to February 2023, Mr. Sun served in various positions under China Three Gorges International Corporation (CTGI), as Deputy CEO and later on CEO and Executive Director of CTGI Pakistan Wind Power Company, with an additional post as Deputy CEO of CTGI South Asia Renewable Investment Ltd. 

Prior to joining CTGI, he served at China Datang Corporation Renewable Power Co. Limited for 9 years, starting as an engineer, and ending with the position of Senior Supervisor of Planning and Investment. Mr. Sun holds a Master's Degree from the University of Wollongong in Australia, and he is CEng of IET and a registered engineer for the Chinese Society of Electrical Engineering.
