Media release: Pacific Blue’s $55,000 Clements Gap community fund now open

Renewable energy company Pacific Blue, has launched the 2023 Clements Gap Sustainable Communities Fund, giving local community groups an opportunity to  share up to $55,000 in benefits from the Clements Gap Wind Farm.

Eligible community groups and not-for-profit organisations from Clements Gap, Crystal Brook, Red Hill, Port Broughton, Mundoora and Wandearah are encouraged to apply for project funding of up to $10,000 per project by Sunday 16 July 2023.

The Clements Gap Fund aims to support projects that provide lasting benefits to local communities in at least one of six funding areas – education and training, health and welfare, sport and recreation, the arts and culture, the environment and projects that support the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander peoples.

Pacific Blue CEO, Domenic Capomolla said, "we’re looking forward to seeing what innovative projects local community groups come up with this year".

“The Clements Gap Community Fund has been running since 2010 and has provided more than $700,000 to over 168 local sustainable projects".

“We’re proud of our commitment to working closely with communities in South Australia through the community fund and as the principal sponsor of the Crystal Brook Classic for the last two years".

“Later this year, we’ll be engaging with the community on our Clements Gap Battery, as we work towards providing more renewable energy and energy security for South Australia.”

The Clements Gap Battery project, which is currently in the planning phase, will support the longevity and sustainability of Clements Gap Wind Farm and its associated community benefits, as well as creating jobs and procurement opportunities for the local community.

Pacific Blue’s Sustainable Communities Fund is the key pillar of Pacific Blue’s Community Benefit Sharing Program.

Since 2005, the community funds have provided more than $5 million to over 1000 sustainable projects in the host communities across Australia.
