Checking-In
You don’t need to remember to bring mountains of paperwork with you to check-in for your Virgin Blue or Pacific Blue flight – because we’re a 100% ticket-less airline, all you need is a few simple details!
You won’t be issued with a physical ticket when you book with us, instead you’ll receive an electronic itinerary and a booking reference number.
All you need in order to check-in is your booking reference number, a copy of your itinerary and sufficient ID (preferably photo ID for security purposes when checking-in baggage).
If you are travelling internationally, you will require a passport and supporting documentation (depending on the destination), so remember to check what international travel documentation is required before you leave home. Once you’ve satisfied the check-in requirements, you’ll be given a boarding pass by one of our friendly Ground Crew.
For a faster check-in and transit through the airport terminal, remember to give our Web Check-in and Kiosk Check-in a try.
Travel Essentials
Baggage
When checking in baggage, you will be asked whether or not you have packed items that may be considered dangerous goods. Remember what’s allowed and what’s not when packing your bags, and don’t pack anything which may be confiscated by Airport Staff or our Ground Crew.
As tempting as it can be for some of us to pack for every occasion, keep in mind the Virgin Blue and Pacific Blue carry-on and checked baggage allowances when packing for your flight - otherwise you could be subject to excess baggage charges.
Hot Tip: If you are travelling on a domestic flight on a Blue Saver or GO! Fare and you have baggage don’t forget to purchase your checked baggage allowance prior to arriving at the airport!
Looking the part
For your own safety and with the consideration of others in mind, Virgin Blue and Pacific Blue have a list of minimum dress requirements. These are:
- Footwear (thongs are acceptable). All adults and children who are capable of walking must wear suitable footwear.
- Shorts.
- Shirt (singlets are acceptable).
- No clothing displaying offensive language or symbols.
If you do not meet our minimum dress requirements, you will be denied travel at that time and until you are dressed appropriately.
Boarding your flight
Our aim is to invite you onboard your flight 20 minutes prior to take off for domestic services. Not only is it important to us that your flight departs on time, it is important to all of our Guests. Therefore, aircraft will not be held if you are not at the boarding gate on time.
If you require extra time boarding or additional assistance, please contact our Guest Contact Centre in advance so they can arrange pre-boarding with your Cabin Crew.
